Does sickle cell eventually kill someone? - sickle cell dry mouth

I'm worried because I have a friend with sickle cell anemia. It says something about the lives of 40 people and only once .. but not one that people are sorry for them. It is overacheiver and runs out to dry. It makes it very much .. only 4 hours sleep per night .. Click .. because it is not really a lot of time on earth? Your help is welcome.
